As the province’s largest pediatric acute-care facility, BC Children’s Hospital treats critically ill and injured children from birth to age 16.

Children’s Hospital serves the largest population of children in Canada with more than 175,000 patient visits every year.

Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children provides treatment for children with complex developmental and rehabilitation needs.

Experts and caregivers at Sunny Hill help to enhance children’s everyday functions like talking, walking, and eating. Located on site

with Children’s Hospital, the Child & Family Research Institute is dedicated to advancing the health of children and their families.

It is the largest research institute of its kind in Western Canada.

The need to provide top quality care for the one million children who live in BC continues. Looking to the future, plans are underway

to build a new Children’s Hospital on Oak Street. This will include relocating Sunny Hill to the Hospital’s current site.

Beyond the walls of Children’s Hospital, a new initiative is underway: Child Health BC. This province-wide, health-care program

aims to give every child and adolescent in BC easier access to a consistent standard of pediatric care

- regardless of where they live in the province.

The 24th annual BC Children’s Hospital Miracle Weekend is a chance for everyone across BC to be a Superhero. This two-day celebration,

broadcast live on Global BC, showcases the best of Children’s Hospital: patients, families, caregivers and supporters from all across BC who

raise funds throughout the year and contribute to the final total revealed at the conclusion of the telethon broadcast.

Our next Miracle Weekend will take place live, June 4 and 5, 2011, on Global BC.

Last year, the 23th annual Miracle Weekend raised an amazing $16.5 million for the Excellence in Child Health Fund, supporting

the Hospital’s most urgent equipment, clinical care, research and education program needs.
